Fairfield is home to some word class entertainment venues that are the envy of many small cities.  The Quick Center For The Arts, located on the campus of Fairfield University, and the Edgerton Center For The Performing Arts, located at Sacred Heart University both host world class musicians, artists, dance troops, writers and more. Residents also enjoy entertainment in smaller venues such as the Fairfield Theater Company and live music and comedians  at local bars and taverns.  For Sports enthusiasts, the Webster Bank Arena in nearby Bridgeport is home to the American Hockey Leagues Sound Tigers ice hockey team as well as Fairfield Universities  mens and women’s basketball teams.  The 10,000 seat arena hosts an impressive array of music concerts, home shows, monster truck shows and much much more.

Fairfield offers a wide range of recreational activities.  Being situated directly on the Long Island Sound, Fairfield offers residents 5 fantastic salt water beaches (Jennings Beach, Penfield Beach, Sasco Beach, South Pine Creek Beach and Southport Beach) and 1 fresh water beach (Lake Mohegan Beach).  Boaters will love the South Benson Marina, a public, well protected marina, offering 606 slips for boats ranging in size from 14 feet to 36 feet.  Golfers will enjoy 2 fantastic public clubs (H.
