Racial Justice Film Series continues with “Home from School: The Children of Carlisle”.   In the late 19th century, tens of thousands of Native American children were forcibly removed from their families and tribal homelands and placed in boarding schools across the nation. Plysical and emotional abuse flourished at these institutions while children were stripped of their culture, traditions, and languages. The documentary Home From School reveals this painful history at the Carlisle Indian Industrial School in Carlisle Pennsylvania and documents the modern-day journey of Northern Arapaho tribal members to recover the remains of Arapaho children who had died and been buried on the school grounds.
